Print Storage Solutions Special Interest Group meeting

The Print Storage Solutions Special Interest Group (SIG) chaired by Andy Appleyard of the British Library met on the 20 Jan. The key points covered were:-

  1. An update on the Epico conference planned in London 30 Sept – 2 Oct with the optional visit to our site in Yorkshire (Boston Spa) 29 Sept to see the new high-density, robotic, low oxygen, passive storage repository.
  2. Reminder from BnF colleagues of the study day, with the theme “Efficient and sustainable storage” on Friday 6th March 2026.
  3. Presentation and discussion on the theme of – ‘Automation as a new trend in library storage’ (an IFLA Series book project) presented by Dr. Ulrich Niederer. An insightful presentation on the plans for the IFLA sponsored ‘automated print storage publication’ followed by a rich and interesting discussion.
